CVE-2025-63828Host Header Injection vulnerability in Backdrop CMS 1.32.1 allows attackers to manipulate the Host header in password reset requests, leading to redirects to malicious domains and potential session hijacking via cookie injection.MEDIUM6.18.0%Nov 18, 2025
CVE-2025-44141A Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the node creation form of Backdrop CMS 1.30.MEDIUM6.18.9%Jun 26, 2025
CVE-2025-25063An XSS issue was discovered in Backdrop CMS 1.28.x before 1.28.5 and 1.29.x before 1.29.3. It does not sufficiently validate uploaded SVG images to ensure they do not contain potentially dangerous SVG tags. SVG images can contain clickable links and executable scripting, and using a crafted SVG, it is possible to execute scripting in the browser when an SVG image is viewed. This issue is mitigated by the attacker needing to be able to upload SVG images, and that Backdrop embeds all uploaded SVG images within <img> tags, which prevents scripting from executing. The SVG must be viewed directly by its URL in order to run any embedded scripting.MEDIUM4.48.3%Feb 3, 2025
CVE-2025-25062An XSS issue was discovered in Backdrop CMS 1.28.x before 1.28.5 and 1.29.x before 1.29.3. It doesn't sufficiently isolate long text content when the CKEditor 5 rich text editor is used. This allows a potential attacker to craft specialized HTML and JavaScript that may be executed when an administrator attempts to edit a piece of content. This vulnerability is mitigated by the fact that an attacker must have the ability to create long text content (such as through the node or comment forms) and an administrator must edit (not view) the content that contains the malicious content. This problem only exists when using the CKEditor 5 module.MEDIUM4.473.4%Feb 3, 2025
CVE-2024-54123Backdrop CMS before 1.28.4 and 1.29.x before 1.29.2 allows XSS via an SVG document, if the SVG tag is allowed for a text format.MEDIUM6.120.0%Nov 29, 2024
CVE-2024-41709Backdrop CMS before 1.27.3 and 1.28.x before 1.28.2 does not sufficiently sanitize field labels before they are displayed in certain places. This vulnerability is mitigated by the fact that an attacker must have a role with the "administer fields" permission.MEDIUM4.821.3%Jul 22, 2024
CVE-2023-31045A stored Cross-site scripting (XSS) issue in Text Editors and Formats in Backdrop CMS before 1.24.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the name parameter. When a user is editing any content type (e.g., page, post, or card) as an admin, the stored XSS payload is executed upon selecting a malicious text formatting option. NOTE: the vendor disputes the security relevance of this finding because "any administrator that can configure a text format could easily allow Full HTML anywhere."MEDIUM4.841.1%Apr 24, 2023
CVE-2012-10004A vulnerability was found in backdrop-contrib Basic Cart on Drupal. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function basic_cart_checkout_form_submit of the file basic_cart.cart.inc. The manipulation leads to cross site scripting. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Upgrading to version 1.x-1.1.1 is able to address this issue. The patch is identified as a10424ccd4b3b4b433cf33b73c1ad608b11890b4. It is recommended to upgrade the affected component. VDB-217950 is the identifier assigned to this vulnerability.MEDIUM6.1Jan 11, 2023
CVE-2022-42095Backdrop CMS version 1.23.0 was discovered to contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability via the Page content.MEDIUM4.8Nov 23, 2022
CVE-2022-42097Backdrop CMS version 1.23.0 was discovered to contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability via 'Comment.' .MEDIUM4.8Nov 22, 2022
CVE-2022-42094Backdrop CMS version 1.23.0 was discovered to contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability via the 'Card' content.MEDIUM4.8Nov 22, 2022
CVE-2022-42096Backdrop CMS version 1.23.0 was discovered to contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability via Post content.MEDIUM4.8Nov 21, 2022
CVE-2022-42092Backdrop CMS 1.22.0 has Unrestricted File Upload vulnerability via 'themes' that allows attackers to Remote Code Execution. Note: Third parties dispute this and argue that advanced permissions are required.HIGH7.2Oct 7, 2022
CVE-2022-34530An issue in the login and reset password functionality of Backdrop CMS v1.22.0 allows attackers to enumerate usernames via password reset requests and distinct responses returned based on usernames.MEDIUM5.3Aug 1, 2022
CVE-2022-24590A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Add Link function of BackdropCMS v1.21.1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML.MEDIUM5.4Feb 15, 2022
CVE-2021-45268A Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability exists in Backdrop CMS 1.20, which allows Remote Attackers to gain Remote Code Execution (RCE) on the Hosting Webserver via uploading a maliciously add-on with crafted PHP file. NOTE: the vendor disputes this because the attack requires a session cookie of a high-privileged authenticated user who is entitled to install arbitrary add-onsHIGH8.8Feb 3, 2022
CVE-2019-19903An issue was discovered in Backdrop CMS 1.14.x before 1.14.2. It doesn't sufficiently filter output when displaying file type descriptions created by administrators. An attacker could potentially craft a specialized description, then have an administrator execute scripting when viewing the list of file types, aka XSS. This vulnerability is mitigated by the fact that an attacker must have a role with the "Administer file types" permission.MEDIUM4.8Dec 19, 2019
CVE-2019-19902An issue was discovered in Backdrop CMS 1.13.x before 1.13.5 and 1.14.x before 1.14.2. It allows the upload of entire-site configuration archives through the user interface or command line. It does not sufficiently check uploaded archives for invalid data, allowing non-configuration scripts to potentially be uploaded to the server. This issue is mitigated by the fact that the attacker would be required to have the "Synchronize, import, and export configuration" permission, a permission that only trusted administrators should be given. Other measures in the product prevent the execution of PHP scripts, so another server-side scripting language must be accessible on the server to execute code.HIGH7.2Dec 19, 2019
CVE-2019-19901An issue was discovered in Backdrop CMS 1.13.x before 1.13.5 and 1.14.x before 1.14.2. It doesn't sufficiently filter output when displaying certain block descriptions created by administrators. An attacker could potentially craft a specialized description, then have an administrator execute scripting when configuring a layout, aka XSS. This issue is mitigated by the fact that the attacker would be required to have the permission to create custom blocks, which is typically an administrative task.MEDIUM4.8Dec 19, 2019
CVE-2019-19900An issue was discovered in Backdrop CMS 1.13.x before 1.13.5 and 1.14.x before 1.14.2. It doesn't sufficiently filter output when displaying content type names in the content creation interface. An attacker could potentially craft a specialized content type name, then have an editor execute scripting when creating content, aka XSS. This vulnerability is mitigated by the fact that an attacker must have a role with the "Administer content types" permission.MEDIUM4.8Dec 19, 2019
